Orange Gravel Trail

378km | 3 to 6 days | 4300m | 53% Gravel

Developed by Jo at Central West Tours, this epic bikepacking adventure loops around the Orange region in a similar fashion to the OVBT but with a gravel focus. You’ll need to be an experienced gravel cyclist to tackle this route.

The Orange Gravel Trail is divided into 8 sections and can be completed in 3 to 8 days. Section length varies but sits around the 45km mark with the longest at 73km. More details are available on the Lachlan Valley Cycle Trail website. There is also a facebook page managed by Central West Tours where you can read ride reports and ask any questions you may have.

The trail runs clockwise but of course can be ridden in either direction, although I think the clockwise direction looks the best. Please note, unlike the OVBT this trail is not signposted.

Like the OVBT, the larger towns on the trail with more accommodation, food and things to do options are Molong, Canowindra, Cowra and Blayney. Millthorpe and Carcoar are smaller but stunning historical towns and well worth spending time in. The range of food and accommodation in the other smaller towns along the way will vary.
